  • 3 oz dark chocolate
  • 1 medium egg beaten
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter softened to room temperature
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 3 tbsp whole milk
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar

Drain the canned chickpeas in a colander over the sink, rinse them under running water, then pat them dry.

Beat one medium egg in a small bowl.

Blend the canned chickpeas: In a food processor, add 24 oz canned chickpeas and blend them until completely smooth.

Combine the ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, add the chickpea mixture, 3/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1 tsp vanilla extract, 1/4 tsp baking soda, 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 3 tbsp whole milk, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1/2 cup brown sugar, 1 medium egg, and 2 tbsp unsalted butter. Mix well with a spatula.

Add the dark chocolate: Combine 3 oz dark chocolate with the pre-mixed batter. Preheat the oven to 350 °F to prepare for the next step.

Bake the chickpea brownies: Pour the brownies batter into a baking dish lined with parchment paper. Bake it in a preheated oven at 350 °F for 40 minutes. Remove the dish from the oven and set it aside to cool.
