Our green grape juice recipe has been specially put together to give you a delicious and nutritious start to the day.

One little secret in this recipe is the inclusion of half a tablespoon of lemon juice. It not only acts as a flavor-balancer for the sweetness of green grapes but also brings a bright aroma to the drink.

You can prepare this green grape juice ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator without losing the intense flavor and nutritional content.

Are Green Grapes Good for You?

Fruits make up an essential part of a healthy and balanced diet and green grapes are no exception. Green grapes come with a pleasant sweet taste and juicy texture, making them a popular ingredient in both salads and juices.

As well as being a delicious fruit, green grapes are also packed with important nutrients:

  • A powerhouse of vitamin K: A cup of green grapes provides 22 micrograms of vitamin K– about one-quarter of the recommended daily intake. Vitamin K helps in forming cascades that let your blood cells coagulate which improves clotting, especially after injury.
  • Full of antioxidants: Green grapes are also a great source of antioxidants. Antioxidant content supports the neutralization of highly-reactive compounds and prevents the oxidation and structural damage of cells.
Resveratrol, one of the most important compounds found in grapes, is linked to positive effects on blood and heart health, and helps fight some serious diseases including cancer.
  • Good source of polyphenols: All varieties of grapes contain a considerable amount of polyphenols – compounds that give fruits and vegetables vividly vibrant colors. Polyphenols help to prevent radicals in the body and provide protection against environmental damage.
Most polyphenol content stays in the skin and pulp of grapes, so don’t discard those valuable parts while prepping the fruit.

Green Grapes vs Red Grapes

One reason grapes are so popular is their versatility; they can be eaten fresh as fruits, or made into wine, juice, jam, vinegar, raisins, and grape seed oil. They come in many varieties but the green and red types are the most widely available in stores and markets.

Green grapes are native to France, Australia, Chile, South Africa, and New Zealand. Whereas, most red grapes are cultivated in the Mediterranean and Central Asia.

In terms of nutrition, there isn’t any huge difference between green and red grapes. 100 grams of grapes (all colors) provide about 60-70 calories with a water content of 80%.

They are also both rich in vitamins and antioxidants. The most notable difference is that red grapes contain more beta-carotene- a micronutrient that is converted to vitamin A when consumed.

You can get all these health benefits and more from drinking grape juice, and the juicing process is quite easy to follow.

How Long Does This Juice Last?

The shelf life of a drink depends largely on the quality of ingredients and the way you store it. At room temperature, green grape juice should be consumed within 2 hours.

Properly stored, fresh green grape juice can last for up to 7-10 days in the refrigerator. The juice should be kept in an airtight container.

We recommend using glass over plastic since it’s more eco-friendly, transparent and never alters the taste of what you’re storing. Furthermore, it’s also easy to clean and usually dishwasher friendly.
