What Does This Red Cabbage Juice Taste Like?
Thanks to orange, lime, and ginger, this red cabbage juice is vibrant, earthy, and well-balanced. It has a distinctive and wonderful flavor profile.
Compared to regular cabbage juice, it's much deeper and complex, whereas the other variety is light with an underlying sweetness.
Benefits of This Juice
Although red cabbage is not the first item that comes to mind when creating a juice, this vegetable is a nutrition powerhouse. It makes an excellent addition to the diet of any health-food enthusiast.
As a member of the cruciferous vegetable family, cabbage has an abundance of health-promoting elements. Red cabbage has been demonstrated to lessen the risk of non-communicable disease due to the presence of strong pigments known as anthocyanins.
This kind of cabbage is the most antioxidant-rich. It can also deliver 85 percent of your daily vitamin C needs, compared to green cabbage’s 47 percent.
Vibrant-colored fruits like oranges are a rich source of carotenoids such as beta-carotene. A 2015 study showed that frequent drinking of fresh orange juice boosts carotenoids in the skin, which are associated with a reduced risk of cancer.
Lemons can aid in weight loss, reduce the risk of heart disease, anemia, kidney stones, digestive issues, and cancer, and lower cholesterol levels. Additionally, they have a tangy, pleasant flavor and aroma, and they can prolong the freshness of dishes and beverages, making them an excellent addition.
Main Ingredients
On its own, red cabbage juice has a powerful, astringent flavor that might be difficult to appreciate. However, when combined with the proper ingredients, it transforms into a delightful beverage.
In this recipe, we combine red cabbage with orange, ginger, and sugar for a refreshing blend. These extra components provide different flavors and tone down the harsh, sharp flavor of the cabbage. Finally, comes a little acidity—lemon juice or lime juice—to round out the overall taste of the juice.
Red cabbage is quite versatile and may be mixed with a number of ingredients to create a pleasant and nutrient-rich beverage. For example, you can replace the orange juice in this recipe with apples, pears, pineapple, kiwi, carrots, or beets if you want to shake things up a bit. Vegetables like celery stalks and cucumbers also complement cabbage excellently.
Numerous ingredients contribute to our red cabbage juice’s great nutritional value and health benefits. This makes the juice healthy, nourishing, and delicious. Continue reading to discover the health advantages of this juice!
Storage
For the ultimate flavor and nutritional value, we recommend consuming the beverage immediately. If there is any leftover juice, refrigerate it for 2 – 3 days or freeze it for up to 3 months.
For convenient pouring, the beverage can be stored in a big pitcher or bottle. However, compact sealable bags are ideal for freezing, since they make it simple to store and defrost individual servings.
