This pineapple strawberry banana smoothie recipe combines three of the best fruits into one delicious treat. It only takes a few minutes to put together and makes an excellent breakfast beverage.

Is Pineapple Strawberry Banana Smoothie Healthy?

Combining many fruits into one smoothie is a great way to add variety to your diet. Pineapples, strawberries, and bananas, all contain many types of micronutrients necessary for your body to function properly.

Additionally, each serving of this smoothie yields a healthy amount of calories and added sugar: 216 and 6 g, respectively. To add more minerals, you can substitute granulated sugar for other natural sweeteners such as honey.

Smoothies are fantastically versatile, and you can add all sorts of produce. If you love smoothies with bananas as a base, these recipes might interest you:

  • Avocado Banana Smoothie: this beverage tones down the natural sweetness of bananas with creamy avocados. It also contains a ton of healthy fats and fiber.
  • Strawberry Banana Smoothie: a classic favorite of ours that’s thick, tangy, and sweet. We also sneak some tangerine into it for an additional boost of vitamin C and flavor.

Pineapple Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

Besides the three fruits, our pineapple strawberry banana smoothie recipe also includes sugar, yogurt, milk, ice, and mint leaves.

1. Fruits

For the best tasting smoothie, you want to pick ripe fruits. If you’re new to picking fruit, here are a few tips:

  • Ripe strawberries are plump, vibrantly red, and free of white areas. Size isn’t an indicator, as this fruit comes in a variety of sizes. If they’re sold in bulk, select the container with the ripest fruits.
  • Pineapples, on the other hand, mature from green to yellow and have a sweet aroma at the bottom when ripe. They should also feel slightly soft and have a little give when squeezed.

If you find our smoothie sour, even when using ripe fruits, feel free to add a little more sweetener. Just be mindful that adding more will increase your calorie and sugar intake.

2. Sweeteners Use in Pineapple Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Granulated sugar, brown sugar, maple syrup, or honey are all great options to sweeten your drink.

3. Types of Dairies

Greek yogurt’s silky, rich texture makes it one of the best smoothie ingredients. It’s higher in protein content than other types of yogurt. Yogurt also packs in a lot of probiotics which contribute to gut health.

As well as yogurt, we also add some milk to help everything blend smoothly. You can use whatever you have on hand, including plant-based milk such as soy or almond.

4. Prepping Ice

Hard ice can be troublesome for your blender, especially if it lacks a strong motor or sharp blade. You can either choose soft ice, such as ice nuggets or smash your hard ice into finer pieces first.

Typically, we will place the ice in a cloth, gather the corners to form a pouch, lay it on a flat surface, and pound it with a mallet. This reduces the strain on your machine and reduces the likelihood of ice lumps in your smoothie.

How to Make Pineapple Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Once you’ve got the ingredients measured out and prepped, place them all into your blender and blend for a full 10 seconds. It should be quicker to put the ice in first, so the machine runs more smoothly.

How Long Does a Smoothie Last in the Fridge?

Without ice, smoothies can last for up to 2 days in the fridge without watering down. There may be some discoloration or even separation, but once stirred, the mixture will taste the same.

If you have made your smoothie with ice in it, it’s best to consume it all at once.

Can You Freeze a Smoothie?

You can freeze it for up to 3 months. While discoloration will still occur, the flavor will remain relatively unchanged.

Can You Freeze a Smoothie

In terms of containers, use Ziploc bags to shape the frozen smoothie into a thin sheet rather than a block. It thaws more quickly and makes it more convenient to thaw and consume each portion.
