Today’s orange juice apple cider vinegar and honey recipe will show you how to make a special drink.
You may think it’s odd to mix vinegar with fruit juice, but this unconventional combination may turn out to be your next favorite drink.
Before we start, here is some helpful information about apple cider vinegar.
Can You Drink Apple Cider Vinegar?
Yes, you can. However, apple cider vinegar (ACV) is highly acidic and can cause stomach irritation if you drink it straight.
We highly recommend diluting it with lots of water or fruit juice to lower the acidity. This will also make it more palatable for you to enjoy.
Is Drinking ACV Healthy?
We wouldn’t say that “apple cider vinegar is healthy” but it can be somewhat beneficial for your health. Here are a few advantages you can get from consuming ACV:
For starters, apple cider vinegar is very low in calories with one tablespoon of ACV containing only 3 calories. This means that drinking it won’t give more energy than you need.
Another great thing about ACV is that it can make you feel full. It can stave off your urge to eat more and thus decrease your calorie intake, benefiting your weight loss scheme.
Is It OK to Drink Orange Juice ACV and Honey?
Yes, you can.
Orange juice has a fresh, sweet citrus flavor that can mask the pungent smell and sharp taste of the vinegar. Mixing them together will allow you to drink the vinegar with pleasure.
However, there is one thing you want to keep in mind: orange juice is also an acidic liquid, though not as much as apple cider vinegar.
Combining these two ingredients will give you a drink with lower acidity than the vinegar, but it can still cause stomach irritation. That is why we chose to further dilute this acidic mixture by adding water.
How Much Can You Drink Daily?
Because of its high acidity, you should consume no more than 2 tablespoons of ACV per day, and it should always be diluted with at least 1 cup of water.
One serving of our orange juice apple cider vinegar and honey contains approximately 1 ⅛ tsp of ACV mixed with water and orange juice. We think it would be safe for you to consume this drink on a daily basis if you want.
When to Drink
There are many myths surrounding what time of the day you should drink apple cider vinegar. One is that it should be consumed first thing in the morning or at night before bed.
However, we wouldn’t recommend either of those options.
Even when diluted, apple cider vinegar is still acidic. Drinking it on an empty belly in the morning may upset your stomach.
If you insist, we suggest having it after you’ve had a big breakfast to avoid unwanted stomach irritation at such an early time of the day.
Drinking this vinegar water before bed isn’t a great idea either as we doubt you’ll get a good night’s sleep with a full bladder.
Again, we advise you to have it after the meal — dinner, to be specific. As mentioned, it can give you a sense of fullness and prevent you from snacking or eating more.

How to Tell If Your ACV Is Bad?
Apple cider vinegar is technically a natural preservative in and of itself. You may notice that the lack of an expiration date on the bottle — does this indicate it never goes bad?
It is theoretically possible for it to last indefinitely. However, it is recommended that you consume your opened bottle of ACV within a year.
While it is not required to be refrigerated, we recommend storing it in a cold and dark place such as the cupboard or pantry. If left in a warm spot, the heat may kill the vinegar’s beneficial bacteria and lead to spoilage.
If you’ve had a bottle of ACV in your cupboard for an extended period of time, it’s advisable to discard it or use it for cleaning.

I tried this, not knowing about the water. The amount used was 4 ounces of orange juice, one tablespoon of ACV, and 1 teaspoon of honey. I drank water throughout the day. It took some getting used to but now enjoy it once a day.
